[Dyslexic Jungle]

ANOTHER VERY LONG REVIEW. YEAH BABY WE BALL. Let's start:

Very nice song. I like the more video game/funky route that you went. I hate to say it though, but idk if I'd consider it jungle (Similar case to my "Run Wild" track, in the realm of this feels more NotLeLee than jungle). A lot more funky than what the jungle standard usually is. Not really complaining about it though. We love to see change around here.

Intro is perfect. Let's move on.

Basically no criticism for the first "drop". Only thing is for the horn at 0:47 until 1:11, listening to it alone for a while can really get old. Maybe adding a backing synth or some other instrument to mix it up? Call and response type shit, yk?

Speaking of change, maybe the bassline at 1:10 - 1:24 could've had a few extra notes to differentiate it from the main one in the first part.

Piano melody at 1:35 is very cool. Very funky as well. Personal preference (and I know it might not be a choice to do so, with Soundtrap's bs), but maybe layering the piano with a backing synth/some very subtle white noise could've done this part justice.

End part is almost perfect. Maybe lowering the calliope(?)'s volume a bit would help (You really gotta verify for me if I'm getting these instruments right LMAO). Last few seconds are good though.

Overall, very solid piece. One of my favorites from you probably. Other than the small little nitpicks (which are mostly opinionated nitpicks), this makes for a very solid piece. Would love to see this remade on a better DAW.

Also I have never used a calliope in my life (I only learnt about it when you mentioned it in Hall of Broken Glass lmao), and that doesn't exist on soundtrap lol
And soundtrap instruments have stupid unintuitive names so if I were to correct you it wouldn't help much lol
I'm not sure what instrument in this piece is a calliope but I think I hear what you think is too loud, I think.
But, the instrument you said was a calliope in your Hall of Broken Glass review is called "Broken Square" :0

From your reviews I'm getting that I should vary reused melodies more, or add more depth to them. I think I totally agree! I'll work on it.

Interesting beginning. The off-tune, well, everything gives it a pretty good ease into 00:37 onwards. Maybe there could've been a little more harmony in that section, but it sounds pretty good.

For some reason, I like the end section's messed up key a little bit less. Things start out all muddy, but they get a little more cleared up eventually.

Honestly, I think this whole song is a bunch of oddities, and in sections, it works out in its favor, and in others, against. I'd rate it an 8.1/10 (idk, experimental shit just usually isn't my thing, but this is good)

Ight. Review Time:

The goofy ahh section™ at 1:53 goes hard. What I can only guess is the calliope kind of carries that section. The harpsicord's counter melody is also a very nice contrast to the main-ish melody from the calliope (once again, can only guess it to be).

00:50 - 01:05 feels empty though. Maybe the lack of a hearable bassline is getting to me. Idk. I like B A S S. Also same issue at 02:34 to the end. It also could've had an electric guitar playing. Might've helped to make it more intense. But if it's soundtrap limitations, then I get it.

Honest opinion: The Goofy Section(™)'s start should've been labeled as 01:39 instead of 01:53, but it works out either way.

Either way, it's a very good song. Some weak points, but the strong points shine through enough to make it work out in the end. 8.4/10.

Also if you can’t hear the bass, I cannot make it more bassy bc soundtrap sorry :( I’ll keep that in mind for future projects tho :D

[electro swingy thingy]

Use more wind instruments like trumpets, trombones. It can help achieve that electro swing-y vibe. Also, the ending could be a bit better, since it felt abrupt.

Very nice otherwise. I like the studiopolis feel I got. Very cool once again bubby man. :)

To be honest, it’s less about pressure, since I get like 3 plays on Spotify, 10-15 MAX on YT and I get most of my plays here lmao. Idk, life’s been shit lately and kind of stressful, and what used to be my remedy kind of now feels like not much of at all. I still enjoy music, whether it’s producing, drumming, playing the guitar or listening to it, but it kind of feels… stale. Idk if it’s because of academic stress, but not a lot has been feeling the same. I might post again once I have more motivation. The last thing I posted besides this was an EP that was overdue by 7 months.
